Embittered and her faith in humanity's capacity to change for the better shattered, the Black Fairy declared war on Earth and her sister fought her in a titanic battle that saw both fairies crippled and losing their powers. While her sister managed to reincarnate as Tiger Lily the daughter of Great Big Little Panther, the Black Fairy imbued the realms between the Neverlands and the Skull Castle off its shores with the rest of her dark magic. If the seal is broken, she could return and attain more power from the capacity for darkness to destroy all of the Neverlands.
