The Horse and His Boy follows a boy named Shasta, who lives in the country of Calormen, as he escapes being sold into slavery with a talking Narnian horse named Bree. On their journey north to the kingdom of Narnia, they are joined by a Calormene noble girl, Aravis, and her talking Narnian horse, Hwin. Together, they uncover a plot by the Calormene Prince Rabadash to invade the neighboring kingdom of Archenland and then Narnia, forcing them to race to warn the Archenlanders and prevent disaster.
