the land faces its demise through deception: a cunning ape, Shift, tricks Narnians into believing a donkey, Puzzle, wearing a lion's skin is Aslan, leading them to worship a false god "Tashlan". King Tirian, the last king, teams up with Jill and Eustace, fighting a final battle against invaders and the corrupted Narnians, culminating in Narnia's end and the true Aslan leading the faithful to a "real" Narnia, revealing the previous world as a shadow.
