"Hal is studying in the study dome one day after school when he meets Nancy. Nancy eventually finds out that he plagiarized an essay and that Jake Rogers was blackmailing him for it, making him do all of his homework." By the end of the arc, he makes up for plagiarizing his essay and earns his scholarship
