Jonathan Edward Bernthal (/ˈbɜːrnθɔːl/; born September 20, 1976) is an American actor. He came to prominence for portraying Shane Walsh on the AMC horror drama series The Walking Dead (2010–2012; 2018), where he was a starring cast member in the first two seasons. Bernthal achieved further recognition as Frank Castle/The Punisher in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, appearing in the second season of Daredevil (2016), the spin-off series The Punisher (2017–2019), and the revival series Daredevil: Born Again (2025–present), and Spider-Man: Brand New Day (2026). For his recurring guest role as restaurant owner Michael Berzatto in the series The Bear (2022–present), he won a Primetime Emmy Award. His film roles include Snitch (2013), The Wolf of Wall Street (2013), Fury (2014), Sicario (2015), The Accountant (2016), Baby Driver (2017), Wind River (2017), Widows (2018), Ford v Ferrari (2019), King Richard, The Many Saints of Newark (both 2021), Origin (2023), and The Accountant 2 (2025). A month and a half after the events of "Mythological World", Washington DC is steal between the hands of the "Monsters" family. Yet, in good faith, they let the president go and leave the civilians alone, occupying the White House and the city until the terms they demanded for peace were agreed to. However, the American Army, led by the Xenophobe Admiral Chadwick, against the advice of the President, is preparing an assault like no other with the best top secret weapons in their possession, such as flying aircraft carriers and combat mechs ! For its part, a european secret society "protecting" the world from "monsters" for a long time, called "Ouranos", is collaborating with the CIA, in order to find the one and only object that could allow them to put the monsters out of service : Pandora's Box ! To do this, they bring out of a Colorado Madhouse Danny Nasri, a man who has visions of the object and is connected to the mystical forces of this world, like Gloria Salah, the friend of the "Monsters". Only, Nasri is a psychopathic serial killer, with genius intellect, and it's very hard to believe what he says. After following a false lead in the Canary Islands, he has a vision of where the box realy is : the Catacombs of Paris. However, she's not without protection and, by wanting to "save" the world from monsters, the CIA and Ouranos risk causing a real Apocalypse !
