However, this demeanor masks a cunning and manipulative core. Beneath the affable mask, Lord Sheffield is a power-hungry tactician who plays a long game. He views the Truce not as a noble peace, but as a leash that binds the true potential of vampirekind. Views the truce as a leash. He respects the Truce—but he longs for the day it breaks so he may be “let loose again.”
