Previously in part 1, Lucian’s disillusionment with Erzsebet Bathory leads him to reveal her plans to V and his allies. But his betrayal is unsuccessful. He is now imprisoned and enslaved by the Council of Sisters, forced to serve as Bathory's "pet" and stripped of his former power and autonomy. His attempt to redeem himself in the second part of season 2 reflects his internal struggle and desire for atonement. Part 2 will reveal that he is one of the original vampires, with V being the first and they once share a history together in the past, which V didn't remember.
