Twilight Sparkle and Spike return to the human world to help Sunset Shimmer and their Canterlot High School friends when they are warned of The Dazzlings, who can perform mind control through their singing. Twilight is recruited as the lead vocalist of her friends' rock band, The Rainbooms competing in the CHS Battle of the Bands while she works on a counter-spell to break the Dazzlings' mind control over the school.
