Maria Valcheva Bakalova (/bəˈkɑːləvə/ bə-KAH-lə-və; born 4 June 1996) is a Bulgarian actress. She has received various accolades, including a Critics' Choice Movie Award and nominations for an Academy Award, a BAFTA Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award and a Golden Globe Award. Born and raised in Burgas, Bakalova began her career in Bulgarian cinema while attending the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts. She mostly portrayed dramatic roles in films such as Transgression (2017), The Father (2019), Last Call (2020), and Women Do Cry (2021). She rose to prominence after starring in the 2020 mockumentary film Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, which earned her a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Bakalova has since starred in films of various genres, including Bodies Bodies Bodies (2022) and The Apprentice (2024). She has also had voice roles, including in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023) as Cosmo the Spacedog and in the DC Universe series Creature Commandos (2024). for Platinum in My Ideal Casting Choices - DC Universe

I love the DC Universe, it's one of my favorite things to exist. And because I'm so passionated about it, of course It's my number 1 biggest and favorite project on this website. I go by the list of DC Characters on Comic Vine and find my 5 favorite choices for the majority of characters. The choice that ''represents'' each character is my favorite choice for that character and the description + details about each character is how I imagine them if my number 1 choice for them would be if that person would actually play the character. Last things to know: - No ''castings'' are really connected, so it's just my favorite choice for different characters without the idea of being consistent - I choose these people in mind that they would play the character in live action projects - Unfortunately I'm not gonna choose someone who's played the character in live action before, due to me wanting to see a variety of people playing the character in live action but if they have only voiced the character, then It's fine. - I'm not going with 100% comic accuracy since I think catching the essence and feel of the character is most important plus I do view the characters in my own way. - I prioritize people I've watched but sometimes people I have a smaller connection gets chosen over someone I have a bigger connection to because I think they fit the role more.
