Miyamoto Musashi was famous as Japan's legendary "sword saint" (kensei) for his unmatched swordsmanship, achieving victory in over 60 duels without defeat, notably against Sasaki Kojirō, while wielding two swords (Niten Ichi-ryū). He's also renowned as a strategist, philosopher, artist (painter & calligrapher), writer and author of The Book of Five Rings (Go Rin No Sho), a classic on strategy and philosophy still studied today.
