When Shang Tsung and Lex Luthor both create portals to bridge alternate universes, the Justice League and the defenders of Earthrealm attempt to destroy them. However, when both portals are damaged at the exact same moment, the two universes become intertwined and powerful relics are scattered across the new landscape. Now, the fighters of Mortal Kombat and the heroes of DC must band together to stop Lex Luthor from obtaining the Egg of the Dragon King Onaga, while simultaneously preventing the devious sorcerer Shang Tsung from seizing Platinum Kryptonite to become an unstoppable Kryptonian.
