This act disrupts the balance of history, drawing the attention of Kronika, the Keeper of Time. As the past and present collide, younger versions of Earthrealm's champions—including Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Johnny Cage, Sonya Blade, Jax Briggs, Kitana, Jade, Scorpion, and Sub-Zero—are pulled into the present. They must work alongside their older selves to stop Kronika before she erases everything they know.

As alliances shift and betrayals unfold, Scorpion discovers the truth behind his past and forms an unlikely alliance with Sub-Zero, while Kitana unites Outworld's people against Shao Kahn.
In the final battle at the Hourglass, Raiden sacrifices his divine power to merge with Liu Kang, creating Fire God Liu Kang.
