Mortal Kombat is a fighting game series where warriors from different realms compete in a tournament called Mortal Kombat, the winner of which determines the fate of their realm. The series is known for its brutal combat, including finishing moves called "Fatalities". The original game focused on Earthrealm's fight for survival against Outworld's invasion, with Liu Kang emerging as the champion. Subsequent games expanded the lore, introducing new characters, realms, and complex storylines involving gods, demons, and inter-dimensional conflicts.
