Anime International Company, Inc. (Japanese: 株式会社アニメインターナショナルカンパニー | Hepburn: Kabushiki-gaisha Anime Intānashonaru Kanpanī | often abbreviated as AIC) is a Japanese animation studio located in Nerima, Tokyo, Japan. On December 10, 2015, AIC RIGHTS Co., Ltd was established through a company split, in which AIC Rights received the transfer of some of the copyrights owned by Anime International Company. Their notable works include series such as Tenchi Muyo!, Bubblegum Crisis, El Hazard, and several adaptations of the manga Oh My Goddess!. AIC had eight sub-studios within itself, named: "AIC ASTA" (2003, formerly: "AIC A.S.T.A."), "AIC Build" (2010), "AIC Classic" (2010), "AIC Digital" (1997), "AIC Frontier" (June, 2012), "AIC PLUS+" (2006), "AIC Spirits" (2003) and "AIC Takarazuka" (2006). Today, Earthrealm is consumed by chaos under the rule of two ruthless sorcerers from Outworld and the NetherRealm: Shang Tsung and Quan Chi. Unbeknownst to them, the Mortal Kombat tournament is only a diversion. They eventually learn that travel between Earthrealm and a newly discovered realm is possible only when the balance between the positive and negative furies—the opposing forces that keep the unstable universe from collapsing—is disrupted. Foreseeing the coming invasion of Earthrealm, the wise men appeal to the Elder Gods. In response, the Elder Gods create the Mortal Kombat tournament as Earth's greatest defense against those who seek to conquer it. As the threat of invasion grows, Gregory, Cassie, and the Kombatants unite under the leadership of Fire God Cole Young and Fire God Liu Kang. Standing beside them are the Glamrocks, forming an unbreakable alliance. Fire God Liu Kang's apprentices—Raiden, Kung Lao, Johnny Cage, and Kenshi Takahashi—fight alongside Fire God Cole Young's apprentices—Glamrock Freddy, Glamrock Bonnie, Montgomery Gator, and Glamrock Foxy. Bound by trust, courage, and loyalty, they become a true band of brothers, determined to defend Earthrealm from Shang Tsung, Quan Chi, and every force that threatens its future.
