Merlock is a fictional character who is the main antagonist of DuckTales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp and a minor villain featured in the Donald Duck Universe and other related media. He is an anthropomorphic wolf and evil sorcerer who possesses a magic talisman that gives him magic powers, that of which includes the ability to turn into non-anthropomorphic animals. Merlock's greatest desire is to regain the possession of a magic lamp stolen from him millennia ago by Collie Baba (a parody of Ali Baba), an ancient Egyptian master thief, which was buried somewhere hidden in the desert of Egypt with all of the treasure he and his 40 thieves looted and plundered over the years. His talisman has the power to grant him as many wishes as he wants when placed on the Genie's magic lamp, overriding the rules of granting the usual three. In the past when Merlock was the Genie's master, his very first wish was that of eternal life. Among other wishes of his throughout the years (some of which the Genie wasn't very happy with granting) were the sinking of Atlantis, the destruction of Pompeii via Mt. Vesuvius' eruption, and the creation of anchovy pizza.
