Fan Casting Jimmy Olsen in Michael Dougherty's The Man of Steel

The enthusiastic, camera-happy Daily Planet photographer, Jimmy remains Lois’s loyal sidekick and Clark’s friend. He is present at the monorail terrorist attack and later at the Planet’s destruction, where he rescues Jason from the rubble. Jimmy’s youthful energy and optimism provide comic relief amid the film’s darker themes. He also inadvertently captures the first photos of Kem-L, sparking the “Superwoman” media frenzy. Though not a main protagonist, Jimmy represents the everyday courage of ordinary people inspired by Superman.
