Fan Casting Dr. Dabney Donovan in Michael Dougherty's The Man of Steel

A severe-faced CIA Special Agent in his 50s, Donovan runs a secretive black-site program called Cadmus Labs, which studies alien technology and kryptonite. He is cold, calculating, and utterly pragmatic—a man who believes humanity must defend itself against extraterrestrials by any means necessary. Donovan partners with Lex Luthor, supplying him with resources in exchange for advanced alien tech. He answers only to the President and has no loyalty to anyone. Donovan is soft-spoken but terrifying, a government spymaster who sees Superman as an unacceptable liability.
