Tyrese Darnell Gibson (born December 30, 1978) is an American R&B singer and actor from Los Angeles, California. He signed with RCA Records in 1998 and released his debut single, "Nobody Else", in August of that year. It peaked within the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100. It preceded his self-titled debut album (1998), which received platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and spawned his second top 40 single, "Sweet Lady". His second and third albums, 2000 Watts (2001) and I Wanna Go There (2002), received certifications from the RIAA. The latter was led by the single "How You Gonna Act Like That", which peaked at number seven on the Billboard Hot 100 and remains his highest-charting song. His fourth album, Alter Ego (2006), explored hip hop under the pseudonym Black Ty, while his fifth album, Open Invitation (2011), was nominated for Best R&B Album at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards. Gibson's sixth album, Black Rose (2015), debuted atop the Billboard 200. Gibson has sold over 4 million singles and albums in the United States. Gibson had his first starring role in John Singleton's coming-of-age hood film Baby Boy (2001) and gained widespread recognition as Roman Pearce in the Fast & Furious franchise. Gibson reunited with Singleton for the action film Four Brothers (2005) and plays Robert Epps in the Transformers franchise. The Meteor Man is a formerly cowardly schoolteacher named Jefferson Reed living in Washington D.C. where his neighborhood was terrorized by a gang called the Golden Lords who are allied with a drug lord named Anthony Byers. One day, he witnessed a robbery by two kids who were trying to join the Golden Lords. While defending his neighborhood from an attacking gang, Jefferson Reed was hit by a meteorite. When he woke up in the hospital, he found he had developed weird superhuman abilities, which he then used to fight for justice, Superhuman Strength, Super Speed, Healing Power, Flight, X-Ray Vision, Invulnerability, Laser Vision, Freezing Breath, Imbue Fertility, Telekinesis, Zoopathy: He can communicate telepathically with dogs. Can absorb a book's content by touch. However, the Golden Lords' leader Simon Cain has also been exposed to the same meteor. Both men try to avoid getting drained of their powers and need constant exposure to a meteor fragment or they will lose their powers. Jefferson absorbed the energies in Simon and defeated them. When Simon was defeated, Anthony and his men show up to finish the job as the Bloods and the Crips come to Meteor Man's side. Anthony and his men plan to "take a vacation in the Bahamas." Just then, the police arrive and arrest the bad guys.
