Dove Cameron reprises her role as Zephyra, supported by Jim Caviezel, Piper Rubio, Matt Damon, Djimon Hounsou, Tom Hardy, Ian McShane, Johnny Depp, Robert Downey Jr., and Pedro Pascal. The film sees Zephyra forced to protect her home village, Siwa, from the Roman Empire when the corrupt middle-aged emperor, Commodus, sends a successful and beloved but unwilling general there to punish those involved in changing Cyrene's influence during the first film's events. Sands Of Vengeance opened in theaters on February 18th, 2027; it was viewed favorably by critics and audiences and was deemed superior to the first film, being praised for its increased self-awareness, visuals, action sequences, score, and Cameron, Caviezel, and Pascal's performances. It was also a box-office success, grossing $803 million worldwide against its break-even point of $130 million. A sequel is in development.
