First appeared in Marvel Spotlight #5 in 1972 and was created by Gary Friedrich and Mike Ploog. Johnny Blaze was a stuntman who made an agreement with Satan to spare the life of his foster father Crash Barton from a disease. Satan caused Crash to die in a motorcycle accident and bonded Johnny to the demon Zarathos, turning him into the demonic Ghost Rider.
Story took place in during the blip, a Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder and determined to save others from the same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. While at first it seems to be a radical success, a darkness inside of him is soon unleashed.
