Alan Anthony Silvestri (born March 26, 1950) is an American composer, conductor, orchestrator and music producer of film scores. He has received two Grammy Awards, two Primetime Emmy Awards, and nominations for two Academy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards. He has been associated with director Robert Zemeckis since 1984, composing music for nearly all of his feature films, including the Back to the Future film series (1985–1990), Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988), Death Becomes Her (1992), Forrest Gump (1994), Contact (1997), What Lies Beneath (2000), Cast Away (2000), The Polar Express (2004), Beowulf (2007), Flight (2012) and The Walk (2015). Silvestri also scored many other popular movies, including Predator (1987), The Abyss (1989), Father of the Bride (1991), The Bodyguard (1992), Eraser (1996), The Parent Trap (1998), Stuart Little (1999), The Mummy Returns (2001), Lilo & Stitch (2002), Van Helsing (2004), Night at the Museum trilogy, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2009), The A-Team (2010), Ready Player One (2018), and several Marvel Cinematic Universe films, including the Avengers films. Knull, the master of absolute darkness predating the universe, targets Earth-616, launching an unprecedented cosmic invasion. Blacking out the skies and crippling global communications, massive Grendel dragons, Xenophages, and Ratrage swarms descend upon cities. As street-level heroes fight to survive, a global defense network led by Captain America and Mr. Fantastic unites Earth's forces across technological, cosmic, mystic, and supernatural fronts against an existential threat far greater than Thanos. While Iron Princess and her team defend the skies with Wakandan tech, Wanda and Doctor Strange cast mystic barriers, and the Midnight Sons protect Europe, Knull's personal arrival shatters the balance. He brutally executes Sentry by weaponizing the hero's own inner darkness, devastating the heroes' morale. Knull's true goal is capturing Dylan Brock, who holds a unique influence over the hive mind. However, Dylan's humanity and love for his father, amplified by the Spider-Men's empathic powers, sparks an unexpected rebellion within the billion-year-old hive, breaking Knull's absolute authority. This rupture, combined with the heroes' unified assault, creates an opening for the cosmic "Enigma Force" to descend and choose Eddie Brock. Transformed into a cosmic Knight of Light, Eddie is backed by Earth's heroes to destroy Knull in an epic sword duel, banishing the darkness back to the Void. Following the war, Eddie departs Earth as the new "King in Black" to control the universe's stray symbiotes. Meanwhile, the Avengers, X-Men, and all remaining protectors forge a new, unbreakable alliance to defend a brighter future together.
