Miles calls his friend Ganke Lee and informs him of the gift he received from Spider-Man. They meet in Central Park, where Miles opens the present, revealing it to be a new suit. Miles defeats criminals, and receives a call from Ganke saying he is having a break-in at Roxxon Plaza. When Miles arrives, a large screen lights up, and Simon Krieger explains about a Nuform Reactor, which will generate energy to power all of Harlem for 500 years, safely and cleanly. Miles hears a window shatter and investigates, but finds no one. He sees on a computer that the attacker has researched Nuform, but before he investigates further, he is attacked. Attackers use some kind of programmable matter. After defeating them, he discovers that they were tracking Nuform's shipments. With the arrival of Roxxon Security, Miles decides to investigate later. He returns home for Christmas dinner. Rio is campaigning to be elected to the City Council. Miles helps his mother and Ganke clean up the apartment. The doorbell rings and he is surprised to see his old best friend, Phin, who has been invited by Rio. During dinner, Rio asks Phin if her brother Rick still works at Roxxon. Phin looks momentarily sad, but brushes it off with a compliment to Rio's campaign. As they wash the dishes, Miles says Phin is distracted, but she says she doesn't want to talk about it over Christmas. Miles invites her to a "friends date" the next day, and she accepts.
