Holding out on the Great Wall of China, Charles and Erik come up with a last ditch effort plan to save all of mutantkind and humanity by having Kitty send Logan back into his consciousness way back in the 1970s to prevent Mystique from killing Bolivar Trask and being captured with the help of their past selves. But the toughest part of Logan's mission is having to give Charles his hope back.
