Marc Spector was a former United States Marine, Central Intelligence Agency agent, and mercenary who was killed by his employer Bushman after refusing to allow him to kill Marlene Alraune. Marc was resurrected by the moon god Khonshu and became the vigilante Moon Knight. He has two other identities; millionaire Steven Grant and taxi driver Jake Lockley.
