Melody Nosipho Niemann was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, to a South African Zulu Mother and German-born father. Melody was named after her parents shared passion for singing and choral music and was born with the rhythm and vibe of South Africa in her veins. Melody's mother, Jabulile Dladla, was a founding member of the world famous 'Soweto Gospel Choir', winning two Grammy Awards and touring internationally, so it's of no surprise that Melody was born a natural performer. Melody first signed with a talent agent at the tender age of 5 and quickly started booking commercials. She naturally transitioned to television and movies, which is where she discovered her intense passion for acting. Melody's first role was in the feature film "Spontaneous", starring Katherine Langford. Shortly after, she booked her first supporting-lead role in Hallmark's, "A Gingerbread Romance", where she starred alongside Tia Mowry-Hardrict and Duane Henry. She subsequently played in a supporting lead role in Hallmark's "A Family Christmas Gift" starring alongside Patti Labelle, Holly Robinson Peete and Dion Johnstone. Melody made her big-screen debut in Paramount's "Sonic The Hedgehog", starring alongside Jim Carrey, James Marsden, Tika Sumpter and Natasha Rothwell. A string of roles followed, including "DC'S Legends of Tomorrow" (CW), The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" (CW), "Just Add Romance" (Hallmark), and "Upside-down Magic" (Disney). Melody has also had a recurring voice role on the children's animated series "Chip And Potato". Melody is very dedicated to her craft and trains with some of Vancouver's leading industry professionals. Melody can be seen singing live on stage or walking the fashion runway when she is not acting. She also enjoys spending time with family, playing soccer, swimming, tennis, hiking in the local mountains, and spending time at her favorite beaches.
