When Prince Zaffiro and Princess Violetta from the Luminaria Dukedom arrive to the Mushroom Kingdom and warn Princess Peach about the colonization campaign by the Odium Empire, Mario, Luigi and their friends embark on a quest to free Luminaria and stop the empire. For the first time in the series the game provides full voice acting and interchangeable party members.
