A young woman from East Grinstead, West Sussex, Marimar is a humble engine polisher who falls in love with Thomas Sergio Santibañez, a Cambridge law student. However, their happiness is short lived after she's framed for theft and the murder of her grandparents, which leads to the arrest of Sergio. As Belle Aldama, she forges an uneasy alliance with her husband, now known as Nigel Hyde to avenge themselves.
