The story of Finley, a photographer who moves to a quiet beach town in England after the tragic loss of his parents. In this picturesque but sombre coastal setting of Margate, Finley seeks solace from his grief and finds an unexpected connection with a local girl named Sadie. One day, while wandering the rugged shoreline, Finley has a mysterious and life-altering experience. He hears a dark and menacing voice in his head, one that belongs to a legendary sea beast said to dwell in the depths of the ocean. This creature is known across the town as a myth, renowned for its great wisdom and terror. Intrigued by the voice and compelled by his loneliness, Finley ventures deeper into the mysteries of the sea. He discovers a hidden cave, shrouded in darkness and seclusion, where the source of the voice becomes clear—a colossal, 200-foot-tall sea beast, ancient and enigmatic. The sea beast offers Finley advice on love and life, becoming an unlikely mentor and confidant. The relationship between Finley and the sea beast deepens, and as he spends more time in the cave, his connection with Sadie strengthens.
