Alonso Quijana, a middle aged to aging man becomes disenchanted with the evil and injustice in the world, and chooses instead to sequester in his library studying books about knights and honor. Eventually, he loses his mind and starts to think that he is one of those knights, a man named Don Quixote of La Mancha, who rides off in search of adventure and to rid the world of the wicked and protect the weak, but he mostly only meets with misfortune due to his madness and delusions.
