Josh James Brolin (born February 12, 1968) is an American actor. A son of actor James Brolin, he gained fame in his youth for his role in the adventure film The Goonies (1985). After years of decline, Brolin had a resurgence with his starring role in the crime film No Country for Old Men (2007). Brolin received a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for portraying Dan White in the biopic Milk (2008). Brolin's career progressed with roles in W. (2008), True Grit (2010), Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps (2010), Men in Black 3 (2012), Oldboy (2013), Inherent Vice (2014), Everest (2015), and Hail, Caesar! (2016). He gained wider recognition for playing Thanos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), including in the films Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019), as well as Cable in Deadpool 2 (2018). Brolin also collaborated with filmmaker Denis Villeneuve in the action thriller Sicario (2015) and in the science fiction films Dune (2021) and Dune: Part Two (2024), in which he played Gurney Halleck.

Lunar Will is a 2024 American science fiction superhero film written and directed by Zack Snyder, based on the Roblox roleplay server of the same name created by FarmerJaller. The first installment in the Lunar Will film series, it was produced by The Stone Quarry and Legendary Pictures and distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing. The film stars Anne Hathaway and Tom Hiddleston, as well as an ensemble cast consisting of Dominic Purcell, Katherine Waterston, Josh Brolin, Chris Pratt, Sam Neill, Colin Farrell, William Nadylam, Danny Glover, Paul Bettany, Michael Shannon, James Spader, and Charlize Theron as the Lunar Mother. Its story follows an experienced but disrespected senior member of the Lunar Squad who must safeguard a powerful relic from the evil Daichin arm, whose leader wants it for his own purpose. Lunar Will opened in theaters on November 6th, 2024; it was a financial success, grossing over $982 million worldwide, becoming the seventh-highest-grossing film of 2024. The film was met with largely positive reviews, with praise for the tone, Hathaway's performance, action sequences, visuals, story, cinematography, score, direction, and the emotional weight compared to previous superhero films of the 2020s. Lunar Will was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Cinematography, and Hathaway was awarded a Saturn Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role. A sequel entitled Lunar Will: Rise of the Moon Lord is set to be released on Christmas, December 25th, 2024.
