Channing Matthew Tatum (born April 26, 1980) is an American actor and producer. He made his film debut in the drama Coach Carter (2005) and had his breakthrough with the sports comedy film She's the Man (2006) and the dance film Step Up (2006). He rose to prominence for playing Duke in the action films G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2009) and G.I. Joe: Retaliation (2013), the title role in the comedy-drama films Magic Mike (2012), Magic Mike XXL (2015) and Magic Mike's Last Dance (2023), and an undercover cop in the action-comedy films 21 Jump Street (2012) and 22 Jump Street (2014). Tatum's other films include The Vow (2012), White House Down (2013), Foxcatcher (2014), The Hateful Eight (2015), Hail, Caesar! (2016), Logan Lucky (2017), and The Lost City (2022). He has produced several films, including the road film Dog (2022), which he also starred in and co-directed. He was named People's "Sexiest Man Alive" in 2012 and one of Time's 100 most influential people in the world in 2022. Luigi's Mansion: Crown of Darkness is a 2022 American fantasy science fiction action film based on the game franchise Luigi's Mansion. It is the first installment in the Luigi's Mansion film series. The film was directed by Tim Burton and stars Bradley Cooper and Emma Watson as Luigi and Daisy alongside Jonah Hill, Jack Black, Jennifer Lawrence, and Gerard Butler. Set 5 years after Luigi and his friends left Hellen Gravely's Luxury Hotel, King Boo (Butler) managed to free himself, as well as Hellen Gravely (Halle Berry), and traps Luigi, Mario (Black), Toad (Hill), and Peach (Lawrence), only Daisy escapes and eventually manages to free Luigi and give him the Poltergust G-00. Professor Gadd, (Danny DeVito), revealed to be the only one who wasn't found by King Boo, invents a Lightning + Fire ability for the poltergust G-00, to fight King Boo. If it's powerful enough, it may just kill him. Crown of Darkness was released internationally in the United Kingdom on February 6th 2022, and theatrically in the United States 7 days later. The film was met with largely positive reviews, with critics praising the visual effects, story, tone, faithfulness to its source game, performances (particularly Cooper, Watson, and Butler) direction, musical score, action sequences and emotional depth. It was also a box-office success, grossing over $479 million worldwide. A sequel entitled Phantom is the Night was released 2 years later.
