In the twilight of his life, reclusive writer H.P. Lovecraft (Jeremy Strong) grapples with personal demons and the haunting legacy of his work as he struggles to find recognition in the pulp magazines of the 1930s. Set against the backdrop of Depression-era Providence, the film explores Lovecraft's turbulent relationships—with his estranged wife, Sonia (Rachel Weisz), and his loyal circle of fellow writers—and his obsessive descent into the cosmic horrors of his imagination. As the shadows of his inner world bleed into reality, Lovecraft confronts his own fears of obscurity, mortality, and the unknown, leaving behind a body of work destined to reshape the genre of horror forever.
