After the sudden dissolution of a party of upper-class young people, two boyfriends, Jaime and Paloma, separate from the group and wander through some streets of Mexico City. The rain and the search for a place more conducive to privacy make them resort to an apparently abandoned car. After a brief love affair inside the car, the couple realizes that the car is actually the property of Captain Gato and his Caifanes. The meeting begins a tour of Mexico City, encouraged by Paloma's fascination with the customs, speech and manners of the working class and the spontaneous—but always suspicious—friendship that the Caifanes know how to provide.
