The film opens somberly as Ben Sinclair and Julia Jacobs gather with the rest of the team to bid farewell to their beloved colleague, Richard Gilmour, whose passing leaves a palpable void in their tight-knit group. As they mourn his loss, they reminisce about their previous expedition to Leilani Island and the extraordinary discoveries they made together. After funeral, Ben and Julia find solace in each other's company. Upon their arrival at Leilani Island, the team is greeted by a landscape teeming with exotic flora and fauna, as well as the remnants of a once-thriving civilization.
