The younger brother of General Iroh was made the acting Fire Lord while his brother Iroh went to battle the rogue Adimiral Zhao. However, Ozai is not keen on surrendering the throne to his older brother, nor to Arata Hatsui, the one destined to replace him and his familial line in succession. When Arata defeated the Combustion Man for the Fire Nation, Ozai was madly determined to kill Arata to secure his throne no matter the consequences, and to return his people to their warmongering ways to sate his hunger for power.
