Katara is the last Waterbender of the Southern Water Tribe, after losing her mother to Fire Nation soldiers, Katara dreams of learning to be a great Waterbender and ending the Fire Nation's reign of terror. That opportunity came when Arata Hatsu in his exile bumped into her and her brother Sokka in their journey to the Northern Water Tribe. Despite her mistrust of Arata, Katara seems willing to help him in his mission to defeat Ozai. Perhaps his sense of altruism will be enough to win over her trust.
