Daniel César Martín Brühl González (German: [ˈdaːni̯eːl ˈbʁyːl, -ni̯ɛl -]; Spanish: [daˈnjel ˈbɾul ɡonˈθaleθ]; born 16 June 1978) is a German-Spanish actor. He has received various accolades, including three European Film Awards and three German Film Awards, along with nominations for two Golden Globe Awards and a BAFTA Award. He received his first German Film Award for Best Actor for his roles in Das Weisse Rauschen (2001), Nichts Bereuen (2001), and Vaya con Dios (2002). His starring role in the German film Good Bye, Lenin! Over a century after the events of the previous film, Adam and his Bride are still buried under the ruins of the Frankenstein castle. A wide eyed and curious descendent of Victor Frankenstein, named Jonathan, wants to discover the roots of his family ancestry. What has now been a legend for many decades, is now re-awakened with Jonathan trekking to Germany and the locals warning him of the perils and horrors of the castle belonging to his family. At the same time, Nazis post-WWII are looking to create a perfect soldier and head to Frankenstein’s castle to find the original monster. What they find is Jonathan instead and they force him to reanimate the monster and his bride. He soon begins to realize why the name Frankenstein is cursed… and why it should remain a forgotten legend.
