When Sheriff Dean Rucker— a jaded, morally ambiguous lawman who’s long been in the pocket of local cartels — warns Travis to let go of his vendetta, Travis doubles down, turning to his old friend and former military comrade, Deputy Emmett Lawson, for help. The duo soon realizes the stakes are higher than they imagined when they uncover the involvement of Mayor Buck Hardin, a local hero who’s built an empire by helping the cartel funnel drugs through Black Rock. With their lives on the line, Travis and Emmett must navigate a town riddled with betrayal and violence to uncover the truth. As Travis’s investigation gains traction, Nora Highwater, a local activist and community leader, joins forces with him to bring light to the atrocities facing their people. Her fierce determination to protect Black Rock’s heritage and families puts her at direct odds with both the cartel and law enforcement. However, when Special Agent Caroline West arrives from the DEA to investigate a string of overdoses, she finds herself in the midst of a local war, caught between upholding the law and understanding the complexities of rural justice.
