Thirty-two years ago, the D’Agostino family—lords of the Italian luxury automotive world—shocked the Milanese aristocracy by adopting an orphaned infant during a business trip to West Africa. Raised as Lorenzo D’Agostino, the boy grew up in a world of private jets, renaissance art, and the heavy expectation to lead the family empire. Lorenzo is a master of Italian culture, a connoisseur of wine, and a brilliant engineer, yet he has always felt like a beautiful outsider in his own home. When a critical semiconductor shortage threatens the D’Agostino factory, a merger is proposed with the Vidal Group, a Spanish-Italian conglomerate that controls the raw materials. The price? A dynastic union between Lorenzo and the Vidal heiress, Isabella Vidal-Moretti. Isabella is a whirlwind of Spanish fire and Italian precision—a world-class equestrian who was promised to a different future. The wedding at a villa in Tuscany is a cold, spectacular affair. Their marriage begins as a "cold war" of two strangers forced into a bedroom they don't want to share. However, as they travel between the stables of Andalusia and the workshops of Milan, they discover a shared love for "The Soul of the Machine"—the art of craftsmanship and the thrill of the ride. In the quiet moments between high-stakes board meetings, a business deal slowly ignites into a deep, unbreakable bond.
