Patton Peter Oswalt (born January 27, 1969) is an American stand-up comedian, writer, and actor. Oswalt first began performing standup comedy in the late 1980s. After spending two seasons writing for MADtv and starring in his own 1996 comedy special for HBO, he began performing in films and television shows including his film debut Down Periscope (1996) and The King of Queens (1998 - 2007). A rare starring film role was the voice of Remy in Pixar's Ratatouille (2007). Oswalt has appeared in dozens of other films and television series, primarily comedies, including many voice roles. Oswalt was married to writer Michelle Eileen McNamara on September 24, 2005 until her death in 2016. Their daughter, Alice Rigney Oswalt, was born on April 15, 2009. He has been married to actress Meredith Salenger since 2017.

Kung Fu Panda is a 2008 American computer-animated martial arts comedy film produced by DreamWorks Animation and distributed by Paramount Pictures. It is the first installment in the Kung Fu Panda franchise. Kung Fu Panda premiered in the United States on June 6, 2008. The film received positive reviews for its mature themes, faithfulness to the Chinese environment and tradition, action sequences, and writing. Kung Fu Panda opened in 4,114 theaters, grossing $20.3 million on its opening day and $60.2 million on its opening weekend, resulting in the number one position at the box office. The film became DreamWorks' biggest opening for a non-sequel film, the highest-grossing animated film of the year worldwide, and also had the fourth-largest opening weekend for a DreamWorks film at the American and Canadian box office, behind all three Shrek sequels.
