Rumi Yukimori, an orphaned Korean girl studying ballet, finds a letter from a ballet school in Paris that encourages her to follow in her late mother's footsteps. Upon arriving in France, she meets two new best friends, Delia Cesaire and Carissa Furi, and discovers her beloved pink ballet slippers, which her late mother had previously worn. Now, Rumi has discovered the truth about the world of ballet and is studying at ballet school alongside her classmate and rival, Lacey Bourgeois.
