Set in the aftermath of World War II, Kong 1950 follows a classified naval expedition sent to investigate rumors of an uncharted island hidden deep within the Pacific. Led by the hard-nosed Captain Voss (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), the crew of the battleship Valiant includes seasoned sailors, green recruits, and the mysterious officer Mr. Henry Ace (played by Eric Bana), a trusted right hand to the captain. At the heart of it all is Kong, a towering, intelligent titan who rules the island. Their "photographic expedition" quickly turns into a desperate struggle for survival. The crew's intrusion awakens ancient forces, and the island punishes them for every step they take. The Valiant is wrecked. The team is stranded.
