Set in the aftermath of World War II, Kong 1950 follows a classified naval expedition sent to investigate rumors of an uncharted island hidden deep within the Pacific. Led by the hard-nosed Captain Voss (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), the crew of the battleship Valiant includes seasoned sailors, green recruits, and the mysterious officer Mr. Henry Ace (played by Eric Bana), a trusted right hand to the captain. Among the crew is Mr. Ace’s son, Christian Ace (Miles Teller), a strong-willed young sailor trying to forge his own path under the shadow of his father’s legacy. Tensions mount onboard as a harsh and unfriendly sailor named Grimsby begins clashing with the crew, particularly Christian. But conflict takes a backseat when the ship discovers the fabled island, teeming with unknown flora, monstrous wildlife, and colossal ruins suggesting a lost civilization. At the heart of it all is Kong, a towering, intelligent titan who rules the island. Their "photographic expedition" quickly turns into a desperate struggle for survival. The crew's intrusion awakens ancient forces, and the island punishes them for every step they take. The Valiant is wrecked. The team is stranded. Now, hunted by both the island's beasts and their own fears, Christian and a handful of survivors must navigate the wilds and reckon with Kong—not as a monster, but as a guardian
