Kyo Kusanagi is a kickboxer, musician, theater actor, and heir to the Kusanagi Pyro-Ninjutsu style of martial art. After an underground crime warlord named Rugal Bernstein takes over Southtown, Kyo must lead a gang called Children of Southtown to take Rugal down by way of an underground fighting tournament known as the "King of Fighters."
