Has grown disillusioned with the KGB and USSR. Maybe taken in by Savage as like a daughter/assassin/infiltrator. Maybe family was killed by Germans during WW2 during Russias participation? Maybe her family were dissidents post WW2 and Savage led the team that killed them? Took her under his wing afterwards?
