After many years, the Justice League are to team up once again as they battle a tyrannical group from another universe called "The Extremists". Led by the power hungry tyrant 'Lord Havok', born a disfigured prince in Russia but cast out, eventually using advanced machines and liquid metal skin to conquer his homeland and become a major interdimensional threat, the villains attempt to "save" Earth by completely destroying free will and taking total control.
