He saw an opportunity to use J'onn for experiments, hoping to extract that energy and use it to increase his own power. As the team of heroes came together, they found themselves facing not only Vandal's forces, but also the challenge of public opinion. After the events of Suicide Squad, the population was divided between those who trusted the government and those who put their faith in the heroes. To manage their reputation and ensure the public's support, the team enlisted the help of Maxwell Lord, a competent agent recommended by Ted Kord. .
