The sky over Metropolis turns red—Apokalips looms above. Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Aquaman, and 2010 Superman watch in horror. Batman says they need everyone. The full League assembles: Captain Marvel, Green Arrow, Black Canary, Blue Beetle, The Atom, Zatanna, Constantine, and Martian Manhunter. Using a ship built by Batman, they launch for Apokalips. Inside Darkseid’s tower, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and Martian Manhunter confront Darkseid while the others battle Parademons. Lex Luthor stands before Darkseid, pleading for power. Without a word, Darkseid kills him. As chaos erupts, Batman sneaks into the Motherbox Vault where the Anti-Life Equation resides. Desaad spots him and alerts Darkseid, who rushes to stop him. Superman and Wonder Woman arrive just as Batman grabs a Motherbox. He smiles, “For truth, justice, and a better tomorrow,” and shatters it, sacrificing himself. The shockwave destroys the Equation. Superman rams Darkseid into the collapsing vault, frying him. The League escapes with Batman’s body—except Superman. He holds off Darkseid long enough for them to flee. But Barry Allen can’t let it end. Tapping into all his speed, he runs through time itself. Barry arrives at Superman’s death by Doomsday and alters it. Everything goes white. He wakes in the Hall of Justice. Batman and Superman are alive—no one remembers. Lex is alive too. Barry smiles. A better tomorrow.
