John Rhys-Davies (born 5 May 1944) is a Welsh actor and vocal artist. He is perhaps best known for playing the charismatic Arab excavator Sallah in the Indiana Jones films and the dwarf Gimli in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, in which he also voiced the ent, Treebeard. He also played Agent Michael Malone in the 1993 remake of the 1950s television series The Untouchables, Professor Maximillian Arturo in Sliders, King Richard I in Robin of Sherwood, General Leonid Pushkin in the James Bond film The Living Daylights, and Macro in I, Claudius. Additionally, he provided the voices of Cassim in Disney's Aladdin and the King of Thieves, Man Ray in SpongeBob SquarePants, and Tobias in the computer game Freelancer. After Luthor's research about metahumans indicate them as unstable threats to humanity, UN begins to hold a registry to collect data for metahumans and put all of them under government supervision. Superman tries unsuccessfully to maintain peace between metahuman community and governments. But a new brand of superheroes pop up, called Hyperclan who pledge to serve humanity by monitoring and maintaining metahumans. Their radical methods makes Superman suspicious about them. But the new heroes are exposed as White Martians who tampered with the human genes millions of years ago to create metahuman population and are now back to put an end to their creation as well as humans due to their unstable gene variety. The informer is revealed to be another Green Martian J'onn Jo'nzz who has been living among humans for over 50 years to prevent the White Martian invasion. J'onn has been telepathically communicating with various heroes like Batman, Aquaman ,Wonder Woman and Flash to seek their help to prevent the invasion. When the White Martians arrive, the superheroes team up with the Green Lanterns of Earth to fight and defeat the invasive White Martians.
