Gareth James Edwards (born 13 July 1975) is a British film director and screenwriter. He gained recognition for Monsters (2010), an independent film in which he served as writer, director, cinematographer, and visual effects artist. He subsequently directed the big-budget adventure film Godzilla (2014) and the science fiction films Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016), The Creator (2023), and Jurassic World Rebirth (2025). After Luthor's research about metahumans indicate them as unstable threats to humanity, UN begins to hold a registry to collect data for metahumans and put all of them under government supervision. Superman tries unsuccessfully to maintain peace between metahuman community and governments. But a new brand of superheroes pop up, called Hyperclan who pledge to serve humanity by monitoring and maintaining metahumans. Their radical methods makes Superman suspicious about them. But the new heroes are exposed as White Martians who tampered with the human genes millions of years ago to create metahuman population and are now back to put an end to their creation as well as humans due to their unstable gene variety. The informer is revealed to be another Green Martian J'onn Jo'nzz who has been living among humans for over 50 years to prevent the White Martian invasion. J'onn has been telepathically communicating with various heroes like Batman, Aquaman ,Wonder Woman and Flash to seek their help to prevent the invasion. When the White Martians arrive, the superheroes team up with the Green Lanterns of Earth to fight and defeat the invasive White Martians.
